Rosetta RPC PIU

The European Space Agency's Rosetta mission, originally due to be launched in 2003 to study the comet Wirtanen, was launched in 2004 and will reach the comet Churyumov-Gerasimenko in 2014. There it will study the cometary nucleus environment and will provide a vital insight into the origins of the Solar System.

The Rosetta Plasma Consortium (RPC) team at Imperial College London were responsible for developing the Plasma Interface Unit (PIU), a system which controls the various instruments onboard Rosetta.

During my work experience with the team, I produced a website outlining their objectives and describing the advanced technology they are using.

The website has since been redesigned in the Imperial College house style, but still retains most of the technical diagrams that I created for the site.
